In this keynote, Martin sheds light on the strategy behind Bertelsmann Investments’ B3-THE HUB initiative, providing insights on how venture capital can be used not only to make money, but to hedge against disruption.
About Martin: Martin El-Khouri is heading B3-THE HUB at Bertelsmann Investments. THE HUB, founded in 2023, stands as the central point of contact for Web3 activities at Bertelsmann Investments (BI) and beyond. Positioned as an interface between the start-up world and Bertelsmann's business units, THE HUB has the ambitious goal of driving the structural transformation of digital business models towards Web3. With over 40 million euros already invested in Web3-related ventures, BI has fostered collaborations on numerous projects within the Bertelsmann Group. Through its focused initiatives, THE HUB aims to craft significant strategic value for the entire Group. Outside his role at THE HUB, Martin is currently a PhD candidate at TU München, where he's delving deep into the topic of "Value Drivers in Web3." Moreover, he serves as an advisor to the accelerator MunichX, authors the influential Blockchain Business Series, and is a prominent member of the Global Diplomatic Forum.
